Weddings at PFMC
Prattville First Methodist Church is pleased and honored to offer our church as the place where you and your loved one will join together in holy matrimony. In the Methodist Church, the wedding ceremony is a worship service where the bride and groom pledge themselves to one another in the presence of God and join their lives together to establish a Christian home. Our church rejoices with you, your families, and friends and our staff is eager to help make this occasion beautiful, memorable, and most importantly, worshipful. PFMC is available throughout the year for weddings of any size for members and non-members. Please see our Wedding Policy for detailed information.
MESSAGE FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR
Congratulations! We at Prattville First Methodist Church join in your excitement and joy. Your decision to marry is a sign of your love and commitment to each other. It's a sign of your desire to spend a lifetime building a relationship and discovering the mysteries of life together. Each wedding conducted in the church is a Christian ceremony based upon faith in God. It is a covenant of love between a woman and a man, blessed by God and witnessed and supported by family and friends.
I share in your joy and welcome your request for marriage and look forward to getting to know you better in the weeks ahead. Once arrangements are made and you have approved these policies as they apply to your wedding, we'll spend some important time discussing your relationship and your specific wedding plans. While romantic love is an important kind of love that should be nurtured throughout your lives, marriage involves a wide range of love that includes self-giving love. Such love is a gift given to you from God to share with each other.
As you prepare for marriage, I hope you will feel free to consult with me or a member of our clergy staff with any issues that are of concern to you. The strength of your marriage relationship will be found in trust and openness. May God bring a sense of excitement and joy in the days ahead as you prepare for a lifetime of love and friendship.
